Before you commit to a space, it pays to know what will physically fit. Two numbers matter most: floor area and clear height (the unobstructed height to the underside of services). Here's a practical guide.
Clear height by attraction
- Arcade & redemption: ~2.5 m — fits almost any retail unit
- Soft play: 2.5–5 m depending on structure scale
- VR & AR: 2.8–3.5 m
- Trampoline parks: 5.5–6 m for standard courts; 6–7 m for performance & stunt zones
- High ropes / climbing: 6–9 m
- Go-karting, ice skating: 4 m+, plus significant power and utilities
If your unit has a low ceiling, soft play, arcade and VR are your friends. A trampoline park needs a tall shell — often a key deciding factor when choosing a site.
What fits in your floor area
2,000 sq ft
A focused soft play centre: a multi-level structure, ball pit, toddler zone and party seating. Ideal for malls and hotels.
5,000 sq ft
Room for soft play + a trampoline park — covering toddlers through teens, with party rooms and a café.
9,000 sq ft
A full four-discipline FEC: soft play, trampoline, an arcade & redemption floor and VR. This is the sweet spot for a balanced, self-sustaining venue.
40,000 sq ft and beyond
Now you can add signature anchors — indoor go-karting, laser tag, bumper cars — and at 1,50,000+ sq ft, an ice rink and multiple F&B and event spaces turn the venue into a destination.
Plan around circulation, not just attractions
Remember to budget area for queuing, lockers, party rooms, F&B, back-of-house and safe circulation — typically a meaningful share of gross area. A good layout balances attraction density with comfortable flow.
